This short trail guides visitors wishing to view Sheringham’s of no fewer than five preserved lifeboats.
The oldest of these is the last “private” lifeboat, the Henry Ramey Upcher dating from 1894,
contained in the Fishermen’s Lifeboat Museum. The private lifeboats were supplied to the
town through the generosity of the Upcher family who lived in Sheringham Hall. Four of
Sheringham’s former RNLI lifeboats are to be found within Sheringham Museum at the Mo.
Visitors are advised to check the opening times of the locations on the trail before embarking on it.
The RNLI Lifeboat Station at the start of the trail is closed. The Sheringham Museum at the
end of the trail is open from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm, but the intermediate location, the
Fishermen’s Lifeboat Museum (FLM) has variable opening times which are published
on this website by clicking on Opening Times on the Home page.
